Criteria for Scholarship and Faculty Enrichment Grants

The criteria for selection of recipients are as follows:

The recipient shall be a person with an interest in fostering mutual understanding among the countries of the Western Hemisphere in the areas of history, culture, language, government, business and/or the arts.

If a graduate or an undergraduate student, the individual will demonstrate financial need.

The recipient must be a citizen of the United States or of a country of the Western Hemisphere who intends to return to his/her native country.If a graduate or an undergraduate student, the recipient shall be enrolled or intend to enroll in Texas A & M University-Corpus Christi, Texas A & M University-Kingsville or Del Mar College.

The recipient must enroll in a minimum of twelve college credit hours and maintain a 2.5 grade point average or better on a four-point scale.
If the recipient is a faculty member applying for an enhancement grant, he or she must be a faculty member at an institution in the South Texas region.


Students should submit an application (available at the college financial aids office), a letter of financial need, a reference from a faculty member of that institution, and a current transcript.

A faculty member should submit a proposal that includes a narrative description, a detailed budget, and a curriculum vita.

The applications and supporting documentation must be submitted to the Chairperson of the Scholarship Committee.
