The Pan American Round Table I of Brownsville, Texas,
announced the opening of The
Costumes of the Americas Museum on May 6, 2005. The Table was organized
in 1932 to aid in the understanding of the cultures and peoples of the
Western Hemisphere. Through the years, the Table has acquired an extensive
and important collection of textiles and garments of the native peoples
of all the Americas. The museum will provide the opportunity to view
this beautiful and unique collection to the general public.
