Awarded annually to a Hispanic woman residing in Austin who has been
recommended by an active member and has shown determination in overcoming
barriers to accomplish her educational goals.

- Brownsville PART I shall
give a scholarship to one or two graduating seniors from Brownsville,
who are United States citizens. The first scholarship must be in the
amount of at least $500.00. The second and third scholarships will be
awarded on the recommendation of the Finance Committee in accordance
with available funds. In 2005-2006, three scholarships of $1,500.00
each were awarded.

- Brownsville II gives two
scholarships a year from $250 to $300. The scholarship is given to an
undergraduate student who has demonstrated a need for the help and who
has satisfactorily completed a year or more of college.

- Corpus Christ Criteria for Scholarship and Faculty Enrichment Grants
The criteria for selection of recipients are as follows:
The recipient shall be a person with an interest in fostering mutual
understanding among the countries of the Western Hemisphere in the areas
of history, culture, language, government, business and/or the arts.
If a graduate or an undergraduate student, the individual will demonstrate
financial need.
The recipient must be a citizen of the United States or of a country
of the Western Hemisphere who intends to return to his/her native country.
If a graduate or an undergraduate student, the recipient shall be enrolled
or intend to enroll in Texas A & M University-Corpus Christi, Texas
A & M University-Kingsville or Del Mar College.
The recipient must enroll in a minimum of twelve college credit hours
and maintain a 2.5 grade point average or better on a four-point scale.
If the recipient is a faculty member applying for an enhancement grant,
he or she must be a faculty member at an institution in the South Texas
region. Students should submit an application (available at the college
financial aids office), a letter of financial need, a reference from
a faculty member of that institution, and a current transcript.
A faculty member should submit a proposal that includes a narrative
description, a detailed budget, and a curriculum vita.

- Members of the Pan American
Round Table of Dallas III has offered a cash grant of $500 by semester
to a student pursuing any major degree, or to a teacher who plans to
further studies in a Latin American country.
The Tables guidelines are: the candidate must be a foreign student registered
in a Dallas County college or university who plans to return to her
country of origin upon completion of her studies.

- The El Paso/Juarez members
have given 4 scholarships of $1,000 each, given to the best students
with financial need in the upper division (junior-senior level) at the
University of Texas at El Paso. These are awarded in the fall of each
year. Money is raised by member contributions, memorials, and a special
fund from the Freedom Foundation. Updated

- Fort Worth Table I
currently offers 2 scholarships per year in the amount of $500 each
to worthy persons who are attending a college or university in Fort
Worth or the surrounding region and who have attained a junior or senior
level classification. The young person so assisted and the amount of
money to be endowed shall be determined yearly by the Executive Board
of the Table with approval by the membership. Updated

- Forth Worth II offers a
scholarship to a student with financial need who shows great potential
in academics. Table members determine when a scholarship will be offered.

- Each year the
members award three $1000 Scholarships.

- McAllen
- To celebrate the new millennium,
the McAllen Pan American Round Table (PART) awarded three scholarships
of $1,000 each to three McAllen High Schools, for a total of $3,000.
The criteria for student candidates were that they be in the upper 25
percentile of the senior class and would attend either University of
Texas - Pan American or South Texas Technical College. PART emphasized
awarding scholarships to students who had financial need and who otherwise
would not receive another scholarship. Harriet

Grande City-Roma
- The Table gives two scholarships
each year for $400 each - one to a student from Rio Grande City and
one from Roma. Sometimes we give other scholarships, but not on a yearly
basis.
- We have sponsored the Rio
Grande City High School Pan American Student Forum to attend convention
contests in the amount of $500 for the past two years. The students
are required to fill out application with a personal letter giving the
following information: (1) That applicant has been a resident of Starr
County for at least 3 years (2) Name of college that applicant expects
to attend (3) Source of funds to supplement scholarship if won (4) list
of high school activities (5) that the applicant understands the method
of payment ($200 per semester with passing grades)

- The amount to be distributed
will be determined by the Scholarship Chair, the Treasurer, and the
Director.

- The institution will be
selected by the Scholarship Committee.
- The candidate must be
enrolled in high school, college or graduate school. The candidate must
provide a biographical sketch, a letter addressing financial need, an
official school transcript, and two letters of recommendation.
- Applications are due by
October 15th.
- The Scholarship Committee
will make the final determination of the recipient/recipients and the
award will be announced at the January board meeting.

be distributed and managed by the recipient's academic institution.
