- The Charles Wilson
Hackett Memorial Scholarship of $2,000 is awarded to a graduate student
for outstanding achievement in Latin American Studies at the University
of Texas at Austin.
- The Jeannie Hunter Hackett
Memorial Scholarship of $2,000 is awarded to an outstanding Latin American
undergraduate at the University of Texas at Austin.
- The Mitty Guerra Memorial
Scholarship of $2,000 is awarded to a Hispanic woman residing in Austin
who has shown determination in completing her educational goals and
has overcome personal barriers to further her dream.

- Table I awards the following
scholarships:
- Bessie K. Johnson Scholarship
- This scholarship is in honor of our founder, who also help to found
PART II in Brownsville, PART of San Benito, and PART of McAllen. She
also assisted in organizing several international Tables. This scholarship
is awarded every year.
- Clara L. Ely Scholarship
- Clara L Ely was a very close associate of Bessie K. Johnson and
together they attended the first Inter-American Conference of the
Alliance of Pan American Round Tables in 1994. This scholarship is
awarded every year
- Susana Schwarm Scholarship
- Susana Schwarm served as Director of PART I from 2007 to 2009. During
her tenure the Table celebrated its 75th Birthday and joined the Alliance
of Pan American Round Tables. She helped initiate the planning of
the 54th State Convention. This scholarship will be awarded yearly
as memorial funds are available.
- Pan American Round Table
I Members Scholarship - This scholarship is awarded upon the recommendation
of the Finance Committee in accordance with available funds. The funds
for this scholarship are usually raised at the Silver Tea, a PART
I biennial event.

II
- Brownsville II gives two
scholarships a year from $250 to $300. The scholarship is given to an
undergraduate student who has demonstrated a need for the help and who
has satisfactorily completed a year or more of college.

- Corpus Christ Criteria for Scholarship and Faculty Enrichment Grants
The criteria for selection of recipients are as follows:
The recipient shall be a person with an interest in fostering mutual
understanding among the countries of the Western Hemisphere in the areas
of history, culture, language, government, business and/or the arts.
If a graduate or an undergraduate student, the individual will demonstrate
financial need.
The recipient must be a citizen of the United States or of a country
of the Western Hemisphere who intends to return to his/her native country.
If a graduate or an undergraduate student, the recipient shall be enrolled
or intend to enroll in Texas A & M University-Corpus Christi, Texas
A & M University-Kingsville or Del Mar College.
The recipient must enroll in a minimum of twelve college credit hours
and maintain a 2.5 grade point average or better on a four-point scale.
If the recipient is a faculty member applying for an enhancement grant,
he or she must be a faculty member at an institution in the South Texas
region. Students should submit an application (available at the college
financial aids office), a letter of financial need, a reference from
a faculty member of that institution, and a current transcript.
A faculty member should submit a proposal that includes a narrative
description, a detailed budget, and a curriculum vita.

- Members of the Pan American
Round Table of Dallas III has offered a cash grant of $500 by semester
to a student pursuing any major degree, or to a teacher who plans to
further studies in a Latin American country.
The Tables guidelines are: the candidate must be a foreign student registered
in a Dallas County college or university who plans to return to her
country of origin upon completion of her studies.

- The El Paso Pan American
Round Table gives scholarships to the best students in financial need
in the upper division (junior-senior level) or graduate level at the
University of Texas at El Paso. The number of scholarships and the amount
given is based on the number of applicants and the monies available
each year. The Scholarship Committee meets during the summer months,
selects the recipients from the pool of applicants and awards the scholarships.
The recipients must maintain the 3.5 GPA which is required in order
to maintain the scholarship for the second semester. Scholarship money
is raised through member contributions, memorials, and a special fund
from the Freedom Foundation.

- Fort Worth Table I
currently offers 2 scholarships per year in the amount of $500 each
to worthy persons who are attending a college or university in Fort
Worth or the surrounding region and who have attained a junior or senior
level classification. The young person so assisted and the amount of
money to be endowed shall be determined yearly by the Executive Board
of the Table with approval by the membership. Updated

- Forth Worth II offers a
scholarship to a student with financial need who shows great potential
in academics. Table members determine when a scholarship will be offered.

- The Houston Table awarded
nine, $1,000 scholarships in 2009. Each year our Table conducts various
fundraising events to raise scholarship funds and the Scholarship Committee
reviews and recommends the allocation and distribution of scholarships
to be awarded local scholars.
- Laredo
- At each meeting the members
take a gift. Tickets are sold and at the end of the meeting, we raffle
off the prizes. Each year the Table raises enough money to give one
or two scholarships of $1,000.00 each. Last year we honored one student
with a $2,000.00 scholarship. In 2010 the scholarship will be awarded
to a student from Laredo Community College.
- McAllen
- To celebrate the new millennium,
the McAllen Pan American Round Table (PART) awarded three scholarships
of $1,000 each to three McAllen High Schools, for a total of $3,000.
The criteria for student candidates were that they be in the upper 25
percentile of the senior class and would attend either University of
Texas - Pan American or South Texas Technical College. PART emphasized
awarding scholarships to students who had financial need and who otherwise
would not receive another scholarship. Harriet

Grande City-Roma Updated

- The Table gives two scholarships
each year for $400 each - one to a student from Rio Grande City and
one from Roma. Sometimes we give other scholarships, but not on a yearly
basis.
- We have sponsored the Rio
Grande City High School Pan American Student Forum to attend convention
contests in the amount of $500 for the past two years. The students
are required to fill out application with a personal letter giving the
following information: (1) That applicant has been a resident of Starr
County for at least 3 years (2) Name of college that applicant expects
to attend (3) Source of funds to supplement scholarship if won (4) list
of high school activities (5) that the applicant understands the method
of payment ($200 per semester with passing grades)

Criteria for scholarship

- The amount to be distributed
will be determined by the Scholarship Chair, the Treasurer, and the
Director.

- The candidate must be
enrolled in high school, college or graduate school. The candidate must
provide a biographical sketch, a letter addressing financial need, an
official school transcript, and two letters of recommendation.

October 15th.
- The Scholarship Committee
will make the final determination of the recipient/recipients and the
award will be announced at the January board meeting.
- The monetary award will
be distributed and managed by the recipient's academic institution.
