November 2019

The Conroe Table recognized and celebrated member Jeanette Defee's 101 birthday at the November meeting.
Jeanette is seated, with Jean Heasley holding the banner on the left, and Director Paula Alexander on the right.

Director Paula Alexander presented Jeanette with a birthday card from the Table members
and a cupcake for her birthday!

Member Mary Lou Sartore presented a very informative program on her travels to Trinidad and Tobago,
and the Dominican Republic.

October 2019

For Founder's Day, the Conroe Table watched the excellent film made by the Austin Table,
depicting the first 100 years of the Pan American Round Table.
The members enjoyed seeing the founders and hearing comments from current members in other Texas Tables.

Member Jean Heasley related our local PART history, since from February 22, 1949,
when our Conroe Table was organized. She read a brief excerpt about our
Table from Florence Terry Griswold's The Pan American Round Table.

 

September 2019-2020 Members

The Conroe Pan American Round Table welcomed members for the start of the 2019-2020 year.

April 2019 Meeting

The Conroe Table, for Pan American Day, welcomed (l-r) Janet Roberts from the Austin Table, Becky Judah,
Director Paula Alexander, Alliance Director General Sylvia Williams, Gloria Riddle, and Jean Heasley.

Jean Heasley (l) introduced returning former Director Janet Emmons (r) as a guest,
as Jo Chesney observes in the back.

Alliance Director General Sylvia Williams gave the program, relating her experiences at the Alliance Convention last October in Cochabamba, Bolivia.

March 2019 Meeting

The program for this month was "Two minutes on the government of your country".
Members researched and informed us of the political systems in their individual countries.
Jean Heasley had Guatemala and Uruguay.

Riki Dewey gave us some informative facts about Guyana.

Annette Ferrell showed us some interesting photos on Jamaica, along with her presentation.

Woody Hearn told us about Trinidad/Tobago.

February 2019 Meeting

Gloria Riddle (l), transferring from the Corpus Christi Table, is welcomed to our
February meeting by Director Paula Alexander.

Director Paula Alexander (l) welcomes Rev. Elizabeth Acosta, our program speaker,
with member Riki Dewey (r).

Member Jeanette Defee gives a report on her country, the United States,
by telling us of the Canary Island immigrants that settled in the San Antonio
area in the 1700's. Their descendants are still in the area, today!

Rev. Elizabeth Acosta gave a very informative meeting on her experiences as a pastor in Cuba,
then immigrating to the United States to serve as a pastor to the Spanish
speaking members of her church in Conroe.
